한국·세계 여자 3쿠션랭킹 1위 김하은(충북당구연맹)이 개인통산 4번째 전국대회 우승컵을 들었다.
김하은은 17일 오후 경북 안동시 안동체육관서 열린 ‘2024 안동하회탈배 전국 3쿠션 당구대회’ 결승서 ‘여고생 다크호스’ 백가인(천안신당고3,47위)에 25:13으로 완승, 금메달을 목에 걸었다.
18이닝만에 끝난 이날 결승서 김하은은 애버리지 1.389를 기록하며 우승했다.
이로써 김하은은 올 3월 ‘제12회 국토정중앙배 전국당구대회’에 이어 올시즌 전국대회 2연패를 달성했다. 개인통산으론 4번째 전국대회 정상이다. 아시아캐롬선수권(3월) 금메달까지 포함, ‘국내·세계 톱’의 기량을 제대로 보여주고 있는 김하은이다.
시상식 후 김하은은 “오늘 아버지와 동생 등 가족이 안동시에 함께 와 응원해줬다”면서 가족과 함께해 우승의 기쁨이 배가됐다고 소감을 밝혔다.
김하은은 예선서 노윤주(대전당구연맹,37위)와 무(20:20), 이채은(서울당구연맹,36위)에 승(20:9)으로 본선 16강에 올랐다.
이어 16강서 애버리지 1.176을 치며 박예원(서울당구연맹,22위)을 17이닝만에 20:6으로 제압한 뒤, 8강서 이보라를 25:17(32이닝)로 이겼다.
준결승에선 염희주(광주당구연맹,14위)를 맞아 재차 1점대 애버리지(1.087)를 올리며 25:12로 승리했고, 결승에서도 돋보이는 공격력을 앞세워 우승컵을 손에 쥐었다.
한편, 백가인은 비록 결승에서 패했지만 강자들을 연파하며 대회 최고의 다크호스로 주목받았다. 8강서 ‘랭킹2위’ 최봄이(김포시체육회,숭실대)를 25:18(35이닝), 4강서 ‘5위’ 박세정(경북당구연맹,숭실대)를 장장 48이닝의 장시간 대결 끝에 25:22로 누르고 결승에 진출했다.
중3때인 지난 2021년 충남당구연맹에 선수등록한 백가인은 이번 대회를 통해 ‘전국대회 입상’(준결승 진출) 및 ‘전국대회 결승’ 등을 처음 경험했다. 현재 종합대회에서 출전중인 학생부에서도 입상이 없던 그였다.
이에 시상식 후 백가인은 “기쁘면서 얼떨떨하다”며 메달과 상장을 어루만졌다.
백가인은 중2때까지 약 2년간 ‘방송댄스자격증’까지 취득하며 ‘댄서의 꿈’을 키워왔다고 한다. 그러나 자신의 한계에 봉착해 슬럼프를 느끼며 심신이 지쳐갔고, 진로를 고민하던 중 당구를 즐기던 오빠의 권유로 처음 큐를 잡게 됐다.
그 당시에 찾은 당구장이 발마당구클럽(천안 동남구 원성동). 여기서 만난 당구장 사장님(강병철)과 사제의 연을 맺고 선수로 등록하기에 이른다.
이어 중3때부터 전문 당구선수의 길을 걸어온 그는 이렇다 할 성적이 없었지만, 이번 대회를 통해 소중한 전국대회 은메달을 목에 거는 기염을 토했다.
백가인의 소속연맹 ‘삼촌’이자 ‘남자랭킹 5위 강호’ 강자인(충남당구연맹)은 “왼손잡이인 (백)가인이의 잠재성은 무궁무진하다”고 엄지를 치켜세웠다.
김하은(1위) 백가인(2위)에 이어, ‘2024 안동하회탈배’ 공동3위는 박세정, 염희주가 각각 올랐다.
‘포켓볼서 캐롬으로 전향 3년차’인 염희주는 캐롬선수로서 첫 메달을 목에 걸게 됐다. 시상식 후 함박웃음을 지은 염희주는 “너무나도 기쁘다. 우리 광주연맹 분들이 생각난다”고 소감을 전했다.
이렇게 여자일반부 경기가 모두 종료된 ‘2024 안동하회탈배’는 18일 오전 10시 경 남자일반부 8강전이 시작된다.
