조영윤 박세정 손준혁, 숭실대 당구특기생 3명이 ‘제12회 회장배 전국대학 학생당구선수권대회’(대학당구선수권) 1~3위를 싹쓸이했다.
한국대학당구연맹(회장 이상일) 주최로 지난 12일 서울 역삼동 RS빌리어즈서 열린 ‘대학당구선수권’ 결승서 조영윤(숭실대1)은 학교 선배인 박세정(숭실대2)을 20:11(17이닝)로 꺾고, 우승을 차지했다.
시상식 직후 조영윤은 “고2때 우승 이후 오랜만의 대회 우승이라 무척 기쁘다”면서 “올해 3월 숭실대에 입학, 학생부 선수에서 일반부(성인부) 선수로 거듭난 만큼 각오를 다잡고 차근차근 정상을 향해 달려가겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
여성선수인 박세정은 4강전까지 1점대에 육박하는 평균 애버리지를 치며 결승에 오르는 기염을 토했다.
이어 숭실대 2학년생 손준혁은 3-4위 전서 고승용(백석대)을 물리치고 대회 3위에 올랐다.
현장에서 학교의 낭보를 지켜본 오세이 숭실대 스포츠학부 교수(한국대학당구연맹 이사)는 “숭실대가 당구계에 뿌린 씨앗이 아마-프로 등 곳곳에서 꽃을 피워 훗날에는 당구계에 ‘숭실대 라인’이 형성되길 바란다”고 기원했다.
이번 대회에는 30명의 대학생 선수-동호인이 참가해 자웅을 겨뤘다. 핸디는 남자 20점, 여자는 15점이었다.
대회직전 개회식에서 이상일 회장(숙명여대 교수)은 “코로나19 여파로 위축됐던 대회가 재개돼 조금씩 참가선수를 늘려나가고 있다”면서 “기존처럼 개인전과 더불어 단체전도 치러내도록 노력할 것”이라고 강조했다.
한국대학당구연맹 연간 학생대회(2회) 교수대회(1회) 등 3회의 정규대회를 개최할 계획이다. 올해 11월엔 학생대회가 예정돼 있다.
한편, 이날 대회는 한국대학당구연맹 주최-주관, 김치빌리아드 빌플렉스 큐스코 (주)허리우드 다이나스피어스 이완시모니스 (주)한밭 켈미 (주)지엔텍 등이 후원했다.
