‘고리나&서울시당구협회배 제9회 고리나 여자 123캐롬 콘테스트’가 오는 24일 경기도 하남시 1%캐롬클럽(하남시 미사대로 424, 트래비타월 9층)서 개최된다.
당구용품업체 고리나코리아(대표 임정철)가 주최측인 이 대회에는 80만원 상당의 ‘고리나 보고테 스트레이트 큐’ 등 푸짐한 상품·경품이 걸려 참가자들의 이목이 쏠리고 있다.
‘핸디제한 없는’ 여성 당구대회란 점도 특징이다. ‘대대 20점 이하’ 여성동호인으로 제한됐던 핸디 규정이 직전 8회부터 사라지자, 더욱 치열한 경기가 터져 나와 갤러리들의 손에 땀을 쥐게 했다는 주최측의 후문이다.
직전 8회대회 우승의 영광은 최지영 동호인(위너스)이 차지했고, 준우승은 손옥진 동호인(홍대VIP)이다.
한편, 쿠션 당구의 높은 진입장벽을 상당부분 깨는 데 성공한 123캐롬은 현재 젊은 여성들은 물론, 전국 노인복지관 곳곳에 전파되는 등 확산에 가속도가 붙고 있다.
이에 크게 일조 중인 123캐롬 콘테스트는 격월 단위로 열리고 있다.
